Why Contact Congress?
Many volunteers and members of the Board of Trustees here at the Foundation Fighting Blindness have stood before the United States Congress to fight for legislation to increase government funding for retinal degenerative disease research. While we would be proud to have every person whose life is touched by one of these diseases do the same, it is not always possible. So we have devised a way to give our friends, like you, the opportunity to write a letter, addressed directly to the representatives in your state, explaining exactly why the issue of retinal degenerative disease research is so important to us all.

By participating in our efforts, you have the ability to let your opinion be heard by your Congressional Representative, using a letter written by the Foundation and editing it with your own words or personal story. By exercising this basic right, you can then play a vital role in changing the way Congress supports this important issue. And by adding your voice to thousands of others, you can illustrate to your representative just how many of us are affected by their decisions.
